The Chako Rescue Association APBT Show

The CRA will host a non-ADBA/non-UKC APBT Dog show on July 12th. By hosting the dog show, we hope to raise public awareness about the breed and dispel the negative stereotypes associated with American Pit Bull Terriers.

The show starts at 10:00 a.m. (Saturday, July 12). Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. You may register the day of the show, but there is a $5 charge for "at-the-door" registration (since we are non-profit, we like advanced reservations so we can plan accordingly and minimize expenses). At-the-door registration begins at 8:00 a.m.

Categories: Conformation, Obedience, Talent

There are 3 classes for the conformation category:
6 months to a year
1 to 3 yrs.
3+ years (for dogs 3 years and older)

Location: College Station, TX 77843 (Louise Pierce Pavilion on George Bush Drive, across from Texas A&M Univ.)

Registration Fee: $20 per dog (you may register one dog for one or all events at no extra charge)

Note: If you are registering 3 or more dogs, the cost is $15 per dog for advanced registration ($20 at the door).

The Talent category is $10 per dog for both advanced and at-the-door registration

All Pure American Pit Bull Terriers are eligible regardless of UKC/ADBA registration status. All dogs must be of mild disposition and are to be in kennels when not shown, and on leashes all other times. To register, send your check or money order to the CRA and indicate the number of dogs you are registering for each category.

Hotel Information

There are several inexpensive hotels in the Bryan/College Station area that allow you to bring your dog.

Ramada Inn: $48 per night + $10 pet charge, 1-800-228-2828 or 409-693-9891. Be sure to mention the Chako Rescue Association Dog Show for these rates.

E-Z Travel Motor Inn: $35-$37 per night + pet charge, 409-693-5822.

Ponderosa Motor Inn: $35-$45 per night + $5 pet charge, 409-693-6810.

100% of all money received by the CRA (whether through donations or registration fees) goes toward rescue efforts.
